Cow skull image: Karole Mazeika
Pillow design and Silkscreening: Lisa Kondo
The cow skull is an icon of the American West. From the days of the Westward Expansion to Georgia O'keefe the cow skull has represented an untamed spirit along with a bleak landscape. Most skulls found in the Santa Fe Plaza are sold by Ecuadorians and brought from Mexico.
Here the image is reduced to black circles of varying size.
This is a big and comfy pillow to curl up with. You can also use it as a floor cushion.
Silkscreened onto natural canvas.
